Configurators seem to be as old as the web itself. Whether you need to configure a shoe, car, t-shirt, mug; there’s something out there for you to do it. With new technologies, like multi-touch, new types of configurators are on the horizon.
Neue Digitale / Razorfish worked together to created a multi-touch, realtime Audi car configurator. A description from the original blog post states:
To control the actual car configuration process users can place multilingual tokens on the table. All available options appear around the token and can be selected by touching or rotating the physical token.
The ability to bring other objects into the environment and have them interact with what’s on the screen is another way the line becomes blurred between the physical and digital space.
